Dear Reader,
Good evening. Sorry to intrude on your night here, but I wanted to let you know that, after 39 straight weeks of filling your morning inbox with a few words (some even of wisdom) these past many Fridays, I’m going to have to break my streak tomorrow for medical reasons.
Don’t worry: nothing is wrong. I’m just going in tomorrow for a scheduled party my doctor is throwing for me on occasion of my 50th year, and the evening-before party prep is turning out worse than the party itself (though I reserve the right to amend that statement tomorrow).
So, let’s take a break this week and I’ll be back in the saddle (or other better metaphor) next Friday. If you’re 50 or older and haven’t talked to your doctor about throwing you a party like mine (complete with drinks the night before!), let this be your encouragement to do so.
Bottoms up!
Craig
PS: If you were looking for a reason to unsubscribe from Second Drafts, I just gave it to you.
PPS: I told Megan last night that if I die on the colonoscopy table, it would be a fitting tribute to my legacy: "He died as he lived...with something up his arse." (I know some would agree.)
