The Original Field of Dreams

The backstop was three times higher and made from a wood frame and chicken wire. Shortstop felt a lot further from first base then it looks now. But back before there was a movie about plowing under farm acreage for a baseball field and the whole "Is this Heaven?" thing, there was indeed a “field of dreams” - in Illinois instead of Iowa.

Thanks, Dad, for not planting over the baseball diamond. It's "gone the distance."
